Online counseling offers a flexible and accessible intervention model. This study used a qualitative case-based approach במסגרת a community service (PkM) program. The participant was a university student (“Aya”) experiencing severe psychological distress, including self-harm and suicidal ideation. The intervention integrated crisis intervention, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), conducted through stages of crisis stabilization, cognitive restructuring, emotional regulation training, and strengthening social support. Data were obtained from counseling session notes, observation, and reflective evaluation. Findings indicated significant improvement in the participant’s psychological condition. Suicidal ideation and self-harm behaviors decreased substantially. The participant demonstrated more adaptive thinking patterns and improved emotional regulation through coping strategies such as breathing techniques and positive distraction. Social support also functioned as a protective factor. Integrative online psychological intervention is effective in reducing distress and suicide risk while enhancing emotional regulation. This model has strong potential as an adaptive mental health service in higher education.
Lailatul Izzah, Eva Yuliza, Sunarsih Sunarsih, Raspan Hamdi, Renny Rahmalia; Yusniar Siregar, Elvina Rahmi Copyright (c) 2026 Jurnal Masyarakat Mengabdi https://journalsacademy.com/index.php/jumadi/article/view/175 Mon, 25 May 2026 00:00:00 +0700 Improving the Ability to Read the Qur'an through the Talaqqi Method in the Congregation of the Ta'lim Assembly in Tembilahan Barat Village, Indragiri Hilir https://journalsacademy.com/index.php/jumadi/article/view/183
The ability to read the Qur'an in accordance with the rules of tajwid and makharijul letters is a fundamental skill for every Muslim. However, initial observations at the Majelis Ta'lim of Tembilahan Barat Village, Indragiri Hilir Regency, Riau Province, showed that most of the congregation (75%) still had difficulties in pronouncing letters according to their makhraj and applying the rules of recitation correctly. This community service activity aims to improve the congregation's Qur'anic reading ability through the implementation of the talaqqi method based on direct practice and individual correction. The implementation method consisted of three stages: initial assessment (pre-test), intensive mentoring for 12 weeks using the talaqqi and musyafahah methods, and final evaluation (post-test). The participants were 30 women members of the Majelis Ta'lim congregation. The results showed a significant improvement in the participants' Qur'anic reading ability. The average pre-test score of 58.4 (poor category) increased to 84.6 (good category) in the post-test, with an N-Gain value of 0.73 (high category). As many as 83% of participants achieved the minimum mastery score in the aspect of makharijul letters, while 77% of participants showed improvement in the application of tajwid rules. This activity concludes that the talaqqi method is effective in improving the ability to read the Qur'an in adult congregations at the Majelis Ta'lim. Recommendations of this activity are the formation of independent learning groups (halaqah) and peer tutor training for program sustainability.
Nur Komariah Copyright (c) 2026 Jurnal Masyarakat Mengabdi https://journalsacademy.com/index.php/jumadi/article/view/183 Wed, 27 May 2026 00:00:00 +0700 Islamic Storytelling Training to Improve Teachers' Pedagogical Competence in Instilling Moral Values in Elementary School Students https://journalsacademy.com/index.php/jumadi/article/view/184
Islamic storytelling training is a strategy to improve teachers' pedagogical competence in instilling moral values in elementary school students. This community service activity aimed to enhance teachers' understanding and skills in Islamic storytelling methods and create program sustainability through the Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach. The activity was conducted at SD Negeri 020 Jaya Mukti, Dumai, in June 2025, targeting 30 teachers. The training methods included interactive lectures, demonstrations, simulations, group discussions, and direct mentoring. Evaluation instruments included pre-test and post-test (20 multiple-choice questions), observation sheets (five skill aspects scored 1-4), participant satisfaction questionnaires (Likert scale 1-5), and Focus Group Discussions (FGD). The results showed a significant improvement in teachers' understanding from a pre-test mean score of 58.4 to 86.2 on the post-test (47.6% increase; p<0.001). Teachers' storytelling skills improved from an average of 11.3 to 15.7 (skilled category), with 80% of teachers achieving the skilled category, exceeding the 75% target. The aspect of extracting moral values showed the highest improvement (88.9%). Participant satisfaction was very high (mean 4.6 out of 5.0) with 93.3% of teachers satisfied. Program sustainability was achieved through the establishment of the Islamic Storytelling Teacher Community (KUGARBI), the issuance of a Principal's Decree on regular storytelling every Friday morning, and classroom implementation by 90% of teachers. The PAR-based Islamic storytelling training proved effective in improving teachers' pedagogical competence and is recommended for replication in other schools.
Herni Hartati Copyright (c) 2026 Jurnal Masyarakat Mengabdi https://journalsacademy.com/index.php/jumadi/article/view/184 Wed, 27 May 2026 00:00:00 +0700 Legal Educational Assistance For Drug Addicts Through Integrated Rehabilitation Assessment In West Sumatra https://journalsacademy.com/index.php/jumadi/article/view/189
Drug abuse in Indonesia has reached 2.11% or 4.15 million people in 2025, with productive age groups and adolescents as the most vulnerable population. This community service aims to provide legal education assistance to addicts, abuse victims, and drug users through Integrated Assessment to obtain rehabilitation rights. The implementation method uses a qualitative approach with in-depth document analysis, legal facts, evidence, and medical and legal education assessment of six respondents. The results show that all respondents (aged 19-44, with high school and university student backgrounds) meet rehabilitation criteria based on SEMA No. 4 of 2010. The Integrated Assessment Team recommended three months of inpatient rehabilitation for five respondents and 12 sessions of outpatient rehabilitation for one university student. The legal education provided includes an understanding of Law No. 35/2009, SEMA No. 4/2010, and victims' rights, with an average increase in respondents' understanding of 65%. This activity contributes significantly to victim recovery while serving as a learning opportunity for the education sector regarding the prevention and handling of drug cases among students. The novelty of this activity lies in the integration of legal education in the Integrated Assessment process.
Azwar Azwar, Alamsyah Adi Putra Copyright (c) 2026 Jurnal Masyarakat Mengabdi https://journalsacademy.com/index.php/jumadi/article/view/189 Wed, 27 May 2026 00:00:00 +0700
